The PHC has adopted the Hardcore Ruleset as handed down by Commissioner Cheo-pet. Although still in beta stage 1, we felt our fighters were needing to dust themselves off and get in the cage!

Swick shoots and takes Cro-Cop to the ground, landing in his guard. Mirko tries for a kneebar, but has to refocus to block a punch sent in at his head. Swick goes for another head punch, but Cro-Cop avoids and counters by cinching in the kneebar! Swick taps out at 02:10 of Round 1.
Lyoto Machida vs Fedor Emelianenko
Machida rushes in for an uncharacteristic takedown and eats a couple punches for his effort. He does end up taking Fedor down into an armbar, but loses his hold. Machida gains side control, but Fedor keeps punching and connects with a cross/hook combo. Machida stands up and quickly throws a switch kick as Fedor gets to his feet; Fedor rushes in sinking in a guillotine! Machida throws some knees to Fedor's gut and escapes the choke, put Fedor presses forward and takes him to the mat. Machida scrambles and escapes back to his feet, Fedor hot in pursuit. Machida blocks another cross/hook combo and responds with a kick to Fedor's throat! The ref steps in and DQ's Machida at 02:32 of Round 1.
Quinton Jackson vs Keith Jardine
Rampage takes Jardine down immediately, but is stunned by a nasty straight right punch that stuns him just long enough for Jardine to get back to his feet. Jardine hits a good body kick and ends up in a neck crank from Jackson. Jardine spins out and takes Rampage to the ground, going for a shoulderlock, but Jackson slips out of the hold. Jardine throws a mean right hook and Jackson takes it, but ends up putting a shoulderlock of his own on Jardine. Jardine slips out too, and goes for an armbar, but Jackson deflects it and throws a punch that catches Jardine square in the nose! Both struggle for position and it's Jackson landing more leather. Jardine collects himself and lifts Jackson from the mat for a slam, eating punches in the face as he lifts Rampage. Jardine stumbles, and the two fall back to the ground. The ref steps in and calls it a TKO for Rampage! Jardine is FURIOUS!
Matt Hughes vs Marcus Davis
Davis attacks first with Wild Bombs, Hughes is able to deflect most of the damage with his forearms, and Davis winces in pain! Davis cracked a bone in his finger, but the ref lets the fight continue. Davis throws a leg kick and slips; Hughes jumps him and takes his back putting on a rear naked choke! Davis escapes, but Hughes keeps his back and tries to lift him for a slam, but it's blocked. Davis spins around and lands some heavy rabbit punches to Hughes' gut, and Matt takes him down into an armbar! Davis connects with some elbows from the top, but Hughes keeps trying for the armbar! Giving up on the submission, Hughes sweeps Davis and ends up in his guard; meanwhile Davis has lost his mouth guard, and looks less than pleased to be on the bottom. Hughes picks him up and slams Davis hard to the ground. Davis is KO'd from the impact at 02:42 of Round 1.
Round 2:
Mirko 'Cro-Cop' vs Fedor Emelianenko
Fedor shoots for the takedown, but gets countered. Mirko also fails to take Fedor down and the two stay on their feet. Another quick shoot from Fedor, but he fails once more as Cro-Cop catches him with a right cross to the kisser. Cro-Cop takes Fedor down after the punch and lands in his guard. Fedor hits the ground hard, but stays concious and avoids any real damage from the ensuing punches. Cro-Cop jumps out of Fedor's guard and Fedor stands up just in time to catch a roundhouse across his skull. Fedor is out cold at 01:12 of Round 1.
Quinton Jackson vs Matt Hughes
The fight starts slow with both men sizing each other up. Hughes rushes in for the takedown, but gets reversed and slammed for his efforts! Hughes tries to sweep Rampage, but Jackson avoids it and goes for the shoulderlock. Hughes slips out of the hold and gets in a left hook. Jackson goes once more for the shoulderlock, but has no luck and gets swept, Hughes taking full mount! Rampage holds Hughes close and tries a neck crank, but can't hold on and appears winded. Hughes flops over for a weak armbar, but can't get it. Hughes keeps wrenching on the arm, but Rampage slides free and gets Hughes into his guard. Hughes punches down at Jackson's face, but it's a glancing blow. Jackson says he got poked in the eye, but the ref doesn't buy it and warns him that he'll lose a point if he doesn't stop faking the injury! The two are still on the ground and they exchange some punches and elbows. Hughes gets into side control just as the bell sounds. The men go to their corners, getting ready for round 2.
Another cautious start, and another shoot by Hughes starts the round. Hughes takes Jackson down and gets side control, but not before he takes a forearm to the face. Jackson goes dirty and yanks on Hughes' hair, but the ref doesn't see it! Hughes pushes Rampage up against the fence and tries to lift him for a slam, but can't get Rampage off the ground. Jackson slips free and the men are on their feet. It's an all out brawl for the next few seconds; Hughes lands a body kick and Jackson counter punches. Hughes tries another body kick, but Rampage catches his ankle and latches on! Rampage lifts Hughes and slams him hard, ending his night with a KO in the dying seconds of Round 2!
Round 3: Final
Quinton Jackson vs Mirko 'Cro-Cop'
Both men come out fast, Cro-Cop swinging for Jackson's head. Rampage ducks the punch and grabs Cro-Cop by both legs, lifts him high and slams him down. It's over! Cro-Cop is out in 00:10 of Round 1!
Why mess with success? Devastating slams = KO's! Way to go Rampage, and congrats on the win! (on a side note, Machida is handed a 3 month suspension for the throat kick.)
